The company has branch operations in Lanseria, Rand, Wonderboom, Durban, Cape Town and Gaborone in Botswana.
NAC prides itself on strong traditional values, extensive experience in aircraft services, sales and support and true commitment to service excellence. Makana Logistics brings to the partnership its strong African leadership skills, an extensive network and access to untapped markets. The two outstanding Companies have joined forces to form a union with the ultimate formula for success.
As one of the world’s most respected general aviation companies, NAC specialises in aircraft sales, maintenance and refurbishment, avionics parts sales and support, and flight operations incorporating charter, contract flying and pilot training.
Makana Investments is part of the commercial arm of the Makana Trust that was established in 1995 at the reunion of former political prisoners on Robben Island. At the reunion it became very clear that the majority of ex-political prisoners were living in extreme poverty and lacked the basic skills to compete in a democratic society. This unfortunate situation led former President Mr. Nelson Mandela to call for the formation of the Ex-Political Prisoners Committee chaired by Mr Ahmed Kathrada.
Among the former political prisoners serving on this committee are several Cabinet Ministers and prominent business individuals. One of the initiatives of the committee was the formation of the Makana Trust. The objective of the trust is to pursue commercial activities In order to raise funds to address the plight of former political prisoners and their dependents.
NAC Aviation is backed by 54 years of industry experience!
